No one likes a frowny face...

Back when Becca saw Katie and me painting Katie's pumpkin shirt she wanted to paint a shirt too. I had no ideas, so I asked her what she wanted to paint. She said a smiley face, so we came up with the "If-You-Chance-to-Meet-a-Frown" Shirt.
I've taken a few pictures of the process, but you'll want t see my full T-shirt applique (tutorial here) and freezer paper stencilling (tutorial here). if you've never made one of these. Freezer paper stenciling is really easy and a great project to have kids help with.
I started by cutting out two circles of Heat'n Bond Lite and ironing them onto the back of some yellow and red T-shirt scraps.
I found a smily face and frowny face I liked using Google Image search and cut them out using a razor blade in freezer paper. I ironed those onto to my yellow and red circles.

Then Becca helped me fill in the holes with regular black craft paint.

I'm never sure what the best part is...painting in the holes or pulling back the freezer paper to reveal the design.

I was going to include a printable pattern for the faces...but I can't seem to find the file. Oh well, a google image search should turn up lots of options for you.
There are just a few more days to enter to win an Usborne book. The giveaway is open until Nov. 19th.
