Katie has started reading the Harry Potter Books.

Hmmmm...she might be able to talk us into more. Although then Eric and I were talking about some of the scenes in Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter 4). Eeeek...is our little girl ready for this?!?

Anyway, we thought a Harry Potter shirt would be fun. The HP symbol from Harry Potter is perfect for freezer paper stencilling. It's a bold, simple design that's pretty easy to cut out.

Instead of using our typical acrylic craft paint, we used metallic silver fabric paint. She started out with the painting, but I ended up doing most of it. I'm not sure if it's because my particular bottle of silver is a little old, or if this is just how metallic paints are, but it was just different to spread...not bad, but different. For my full tutorial on freezer paper stencilling see here.

Do you have a Harry Potter lover at your house? How far into the series have you let your 7 or 8 year old read?

And if you're a book fan, today is the last day to enter to win an Usborne book. The giveaway is open until Nov. 19th, 2012.
