I know that it's very en-vogue right now to clean with home-made products, and I have tried tons of different homemade cleaner recipes and so far haven't fallen in love with anything. I usually just buy whatever all purpose cleaner is on sale and use that for most of my routine cleaning, but I thought I'd share a few of my favorite cleaning products that I have found over the past several months.
I am in love with all Method brand cleaners from Target, and I love that their scents rotate with the seasons. I use this all purpose cleaner on just about everything in our kitchen and bathrooms. I even mop the floor with it. Our current scent is Pear Ginger. It smells so yummy and leaves everything super clean and shiny. This is the best carpet cleaner you guys. Seriously, it takes out red wine, coffee, all that jazz. I also used it in a carpet cleaning machine and it definitely helped with some of those high traffic areas. I bought it at Home Depot, but I am sure other stores sell it as well.
Buying these as wipes is a bit extravagant- and I have found that the multi surface cleaner in a spray bottle works just as well- but these were a great transition for me to wean myself off of cleaning with babywipes. I love that with 2 or 3 of these wipes I can clean my entire bedroom- which has tons of wood, tons of granite and tons of mirrors and windows. It gets everything shiny without any streaks.
Of all of the products that I could see myself giving up for a cheaper alternative- this is not one of them. I cannot live without my swiffer dusters. I use these to quickly predust surfaces before I shine them up with the pledge wipes. My kids also love to play with these.
I am kind of addicted to this stuff. Truth be told: bleach scares me a little. And it probably should- because since I have started using this stuff I have ruined at least 2 t shirts and a bathroom rug. But I can't help myself. I LOVE the scent of dilute bleach. I've been buying the Clean Linen scent- and I just love to wash our sheets and towels with a tiny tiny bit of bleach in the water to freshen them up. I also clean my shower with a bleach/water solution strictly because I love how it smells afterwards.
So there you have it. Now you know what's hiding in my cleaning supplies closet. What are your fav cleaning products? Or if you make your own, what do you use?
