I saw this adorable T-shirt via the Little Four Eyes Pinterest page a while ago. I didn't plan on making it until I found this brown T-shirt in my stash and figured it was destined to be a Halloween shirt.
Katie loves it.
It especially looks like her because right now, Katie just has one front tooth...and of course the glasses.
Katie doesn't really mind wearing her glasses because they help her see SOOOO much better, but we're always looking for ways to make glasses seem cool.
And I think my girl looks beautiful in her glasses...
I used a combination of T-shirt applique (tutorial here) and freezer paper stencilling (tutorial here). Freezer paper stenciling is really easy and a great project to have kids help with.
They love dabbing the paint on, and of course the best part is the "reveal" when you peel the freezer paper off. We tested out about 15 colors of paint for the glasses before Katie found the perfect ones.
And it turned out Katie had her new shirt all ready to wear for a visit to the eye doctor. (Yeah, I'd totally forgotten about it until the doctor called the day before to remind us. So we also took the opportunity to stop at the "big city" library while we were in town. She was a happy girl. She found two new Boxcar Children books she hasn't read yet. Stay tuned for more details on Becca's shirt.
And if you're looking for projects to join in on the Kids Clothes Week Challenge, there are a lot of ideas and tons of free patterns on my Hand-Me-Down REHAB (aka how to make cute clothes on the cheap) Page.
Please show my sponsors some love...
